How to Lube a 3x3 Speed Cube

Just bought a brand new bottle of lube and have no idea what to do with it? Prehaps you're new to cubing and heard of 'cube lube' lets go over the basics. Pick up your KewbzUK lubricant and your 3x3 cube and lets crack on

The first step is to decide on your lube. Maybe you only have one bottle? Or prehaps you have a mixture of the 4. Step 1 is always decide what you want from your cube. All of the KewbzUK 15ml lubes can be mixed together to create a truely unique feel. Lets go over all of our lubricants and what they offer.

So, we've decided on a lube / lube combo. Now, the process is exactly the same wether you are using a single lube, or a combination of 2 lubes. If you are going with the lube combo option, a general rule of thumb is to put the thicker lubricant closer to the core of the puzzle. Let's talk about this more below. If you are using a single lube then simply follow the same steps below but use the same lube.

With your index finger, offset the top layer by around 25-35° (U') whilst simultaneously using your ring finger to offset the right layer (R') by 25-35°. This will create a space between the FUR piece, exposing the base of that corner. This is a great place to apply 2-3 nice big drops of your lubricant of choice.

Once applied, do 1 or 2 solves just to get this lube moving around the cube a little.

After applying your thick lube lets grab our thinner lube and apply a generous drop to a corner of your choice (this should be applied to the actual corner-edge contact point and not the base of the corner as we did before).

After you've done a few moves, lets choose a different corner and apply another single drop to that corner (if needed).
